What is the goal of the Sirua Aulo Water Project?

The goal of the Sirua Aulo Water Project is to provide reliable drinking water to the students, staff, and surrounding community of the Siura Aulo Academy in Kenya.

What is the issue?

Currently, the community surrounding the Siura Aulo Academy in Kenya rely on the nearest river (the Ole Serianni) for their water. However, this river is located miles from the village and contains toxic pathogens that can lead to fatal illnesses when consumed. It's the children of the village who are burdened with the task of retrieving the water from the river daily - this takes them away from their education at the academy on a regular basis.

Where do we need to focus?

The Sirua Aulo Academy is a school campus residing in the Kapune region. The school was founded in 2008 by a local man to help give the children of the region a chance to be educated, empowered, and break the cycle of poverty. To build the well here on this academy's campus would provide safe drinking water to the most people, including the students who will be able to focus more on their education because of this.

The Clean Water Project:

The Sirua Aulo Clean Water Project began with the hope that this academy could conceive a reliable and sustainable water source reaching the most people and providing relief to the students, staff, and surrounding community of Sirua Aulo.

What is the project plan?

A water well will be constructed so that water can be conveyed to a secure storage tank located on the Academy premises to focus this water access to those working or learning in the school. Additionally, a pipeline will be constructed to convey clean water to a taphouse located downhill from the Academy to provide the rest of the local community with access to clean water as well.

Project plan blueprint, 2020.

Is this project sustainable?

The water will be pumped through a completely autonomous network, powered by an off-grid, sustainable, solar-pump. Community members will pay a small fee to access the taphouse. The funds will be re-invested into the maintenance of the well and pump system. Any excess funds will be used to construct additional wells in the community.

3000 people will gain access to clean drinking water

But we can't do it without you...

We can make this hope a reality!
